February 19th, 2013 | Quarter of a Century

So the unthinkable happened. I got old. Just suddenly over night one day last week! I know age is just a number but it’s weird to think that I have actually been here a quater of a century now. I think the general population is maturing later too. When I think about 25 year olds that I knew when I was younger, I feel like they had accomplished much more in life. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the same way some time? They say that the second half of your twenties goes by slower than the first. Well, we’ll see about that.

Anyways age aside I had such a wonderful birthday! I’m so lucky to have such amazing friends, family & co-workers. I couldn’t ask for better people in my life, or could imagine a better birthday. I’m really lucky. Here’s a few snapshots from my day:

The day of my birthday I went with my mom to get my hair & nails done. (A long with a hand massage, which just made me realize how badly I need a full body massage haha!) After we went out for lunch and I had once of the best gluten free burgers I’ve had in a while.

When I got home there was a little surprise waiting for me, one of my best friends who lives over 4 hours away had sent me the prettiest flowers!! It’s so funny how getting flowers can make any day seem so much more special than it already is.

My sister spent 4 hours slaving away to make me the BEST cake. It was a gluten free strawberry cake, with fresh strawberries between the layers and was iced in a ombre rosette pattern. I died.

What would a birthday be without my beloved DAVIDsTEA. I made myself a Birthday Cake tea latte, topped it with a few sprinkles. The best. I also received two teas (1 & 2) , a new bodum travel thermos (which keeps my tea hot for hours by the way!!!), and a set of 4 nobel cups for my birthday. Be-still my old lady heart. I’m in love with every single one.

I also made a trip to my favourite local antique stores. I guess I have a reputation there for being the tea-cup-collecting lady because when I was finally getting ready to check out they surprised me with a stunning pink tea cup with gold detailing as a birthday present.

Oh and this is probably the lamest thing to ask for your birthday… but I got a steamer! I’m so freakin’ excited!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

September 5th, 2012 | Goodbye Summer… recap

Above: Crafty goodness, Flower crown party, Owl pillow & cake I made for a coworker’s last day (she loves owls), sushi, deep fried mac n cheese, red velvet funnel cake (I was hurting for a few days.. but I just had to try these last two), summer fashion (pretty much everything in these ones are H&M).

I had a wonderful summer, and even though it’s leaving I can’t say that I’m too sad. I’m totally ready for fall. My summer was everything I aimed for it to be! I had tons of crafternoons, I managed to get the craft room all organized, pigged out lots, went on day trips out of town to go antiquing, landed a really cool job for the summer at a fashion PR firm, threw a flower crown making garden party and most importantly spent my summer with the best kids around town. The only thing I didn’t get to do that I wanted to was swim, which is kinda sad because thats what summer is all about hah!

August went by really quickly for me. Honestly mostly because most of it was spent in bed for me recovering from my accident, and then getting pretty sick after that because my immune system was shot. I’m still getting over a bug but it has turned more into a really bad cold the past day or so. Because of this too I have a few things I still want to share with you guys from my summer. I have an entire post on the garden party planned, and then a few recipes from things I made for that. (Tea-infused cocktails, a really wicked desert, and I’ve decide to share one of my top secret recipes.)

I’m seriously so excited for fall though. Summer can take a hike. Fall is my favourite time of the month, and I have a lot of really fun things planed for both real world and the blog. I’ve been collecting items for my fall wardrobe since end of July, so I’m really itching to wear those too. I’ve decided that it’s totally okay to start busting out some fall wardrobe items even though its still hot out because Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte is back. Justified, right?! ;)

I hope you guys all had a wonderful summer. I can’t wait to hear about them all! :D

Hello dears! September was really busy for me, but full of some lovely things! We did renovations at the store, which was super hectic but I’ve had lost of fun this month too. Here’s some stuff I’ve been up to while I’ve been away from the internet :).

♥ My coworkers and I had a cupcake decorating & tea party! It was super fun. We made owl cupcakes and had high tea and little tea sandwiches!

♥ I dyed my hair red! :)

♥ It was my best friend’s birthday, and this year she decided to celebrate it a week late at Head of the Trent/their homecoming so that way everyone would be back in town to celebrate with us. It was super fun getting to catch up with everyone.

♥ Yummy yummy foods

♥ Nail polish colour above is China Glaze in Re-freshed Mint

♥ I have found the best gluten free banana chocolate chip bread. Almost every grocery store has it, and it’s really good with my homemade raspberry icing.

♥ Fall fashion! love.

♥ In August one of my favourite managers moved away. Above is the cake my sister & I made for the surprise goodbye party some of us threw at work. I’m just getting around to posting this photo now

If your curious about what I’m wearing above, both the blouse and skirt are from h&m. The fedora is from Forever21.
