Meet Melanie! I had the pleasure of working with this lovely little lass before she moved to Alberta about a year ago. When she came home for a week long visit for the holidays we set aside a day to play some catch up with each other. We went to a local farmers market and pumpkin patch for the first half of the day. This place seriously has some of the best fudge. I picked up some pumpkin pecan and maple chocolate for myself.
It got a little chilly and it started to rain so we made the best of the situation and headed just down the road to one of my favorite antique barns. (Ok it’s actually 3 huge barns on one farm.) I picked up a really neat teacup that had a metallic silver ombré on the front, a large floral print on the inside and gold on the handle and around the rim. Melanie got some really unique vintage glass pieces for jewelry storage. She also also surprised me with a book that I had been eyeing and a new mug for helping her redo her blog. It was a great day, my only possible complaint is that it ended haha!
I dressed for comfort & climbing hay bails, but here’s what I wore anyways!
Top: H&M (kids dress)
Leggings: H&M
Owl necklace: Forever 21
Ring: H&M
Boots: Aldo
Jacket: H&M
Don’t forget to visit Melanie and say hi!

Dress: c/o Sugarlips
Hat: Forever 21
Belt: H&M
Shoes: Dexter
Bag: Theit
I just love this dress. I wish I got some better photos of it theses don’t do it justice, the sun was really bright that day so it was a little difficult to shoot with just me and a tripod. It’s made from a great light-weight silky fabric. I love how I’ll easily will be able to carry it into the fall. I’m sure you’ll see this dress making an appearance quite frequently around the blog. I love the peter pan colar and the keyhole back. Such wonderful simple details.
This was my first time I’ve ever gotten anything from Sugarlips, and I would recommend them. Just be sure to check your measurements carefully, as I find their sizes a little smaller that others (similar to H&M) so you may want to size up depending on the item. Their items are tailored really nicely. Hope you all had a great weekend!

I love hanging out near the lake in the summer. It’s a great way to escape the heat… the only thing that would make it better would be being able to actually swim in the lake that is near us. Silly lake Ontario.
Okay, pause a second. You’re all probably thinking why the hell we’re dressed like that for a day by the lake. Well we went to a little town that’s near by, that happens to be on the lake, that has some of the cutest shops and restaurants and tea houses to do some window shopping and a lot of eating. So we we’re realllllly at the lake. Right? Right.

Eep! I have so many posts I’m behind on that I made… and then forgot to post. Here’s a an outfit from a week or so ago :).
Remember how I always joke that H&M is taking over my wardrobe? Ya well, it’s not joke it’s officially happened. I can safely say that this entire outfit is 100% H&M. Note to self: start mixing it up!
And now I’m off to attempt to make french macarons for the first time. Hohboy.
