Dress: H&M (recent, 14.95) Necklace: H&M (older, 19.95) Sandals: Wal-Mart (really old)
I’m a big fan of black and white outfits with pops of colour, especially when there is a fun print to go with it. I just need to take a moment to gush over this dress. It was only 14.95!! I may or may not have also bought it in solid black and burgundy. (It also comes in a floral print and a slate blue.) I live in dresses and leggings most days, and an a-line is one of my favourite shapes so I kind of had to have it. Not to mention it’s super comfy and really easy to dress up or down.
What I love about it is it’s actually a thicker material than H&M’s usual basic/lower price point pieces. I also love how easy it will be to incorporate into my fall and winter wardrobe once it gets a little colder. Tights, boots, leggings, a nice cardigan and maybe a scarf and you’re good to go!
I had a hard time shooting these photos though because the mother nature was being Little Ms. Crazy-Pants! It was pouring one minute and bright and sunny the next which made it kinda difficult. It was kinda funny going through them, the colours were totally different in almost every one haha! I tried to grab the ones with the most similar colours. Anyone have any tips for shooting in this condition indoors?

Dress: Target | Bracelete: Forever 21 | Sunnies: (in other post) Forever 21 | Purse: Target (yellow S/O) | Nails painted by the lovely Amy!
I normally don’t post twice in one day, but I felt it was just a bit too image heavy to cram everything into one post! These photos are totally reminding me I’m well due for a colour appointment for my hair haha! Never the less, here is what I wore on our sunny victoria day backyard party! I just love this dress. (Who doesn’t love polka dots, am I right?!) I ended up buying it in another pattern too.

Meet Melanie! I had the pleasure of working with this lovely little lass before she moved to Alberta about a year ago. When she came home for a week long visit for the holidays we set aside a day to play some catch up with each other. We went to a local farmers market and pumpkin patch for the first half of the day. This place seriously has some of the best fudge. I picked up some pumpkin pecan and maple chocolate for myself.
It got a little chilly and it started to rain so we made the best of the situation and headed just down the road to one of my favorite antique barns. (Ok it’s actually 3 huge barns on one farm.) I picked up a really neat teacup that had a metallic silver ombré on the front, a large floral print on the inside and gold on the handle and around the rim. Melanie got some really unique vintage glass pieces for jewelry storage. She also also surprised me with a book that I had been eyeing and a new mug for helping her redo her blog. It was a great day, my only possible complaint is that it ended haha!
I dressed for comfort & climbing hay bails, but here’s what I wore anyways!
Top: H&M (kids dress)
Owl necklace: Forever 21
Don’t forget to visit Melanie and say hi!

Dress: c/o Sugarlips
Hat: Forever 21
I just love this dress. I wish I got some better photos of it theses don’t do it justice, the sun was really bright that day so it was a little difficult to shoot with just me and a tripod. It’s made from a great light-weight silky fabric. I love how I’ll easily will be able to carry it into the fall. I’m sure you’ll see this dress making an appearance quite frequently around the blog. I love the peter pan colar and the keyhole back. Such wonderful simple details.
This was my first time I’ve ever gotten anything from Sugarlips, and I would recommend them. Just be sure to check your measurements carefully, as I find their sizes a little smaller that others (similar to H&M) so you may want to size up depending on the item. Their items are tailored really nicely. Hope you all had a great weekend!

I love hanging out near the lake in the summer. It’s a great way to escape the heat… the only thing that would make it better would be being able to actually swim in the lake that is near us. Silly lake Ontario.
Okay, pause a second. You’re all probably thinking why the hell we’re dressed like that for a day by the lake. Well we went to a little town that’s near by, that happens to be on the lake, that has some of the cutest shops and restaurants and tea houses to do some window shopping and a lot of eating. So we we’re realllllly at the lake. Right? Right.
