I know, this post is really image heavy (sorry not sorry). But I love my new bathroom. It’s been fully decorated for maybe about a month or two now (I know, bad blogger here) and it just makes me so happy every day. I’m thrilled with how it turned out and am so glad I waited until I had every little detail bought and planned out before I actually put it all together. I’m doing the same for my room, it just made it so much nicer to be able to paint it and set everything up then have it completely done.

I’m pretty proud of the outcome, especially the mirror. I found it at an antique store in Toronto about a year ago and got a wicked deal on it because it had a tiny chip in the corner. It originally had a solid gold finish but I chose to paint over it and distress it.

I feel like the colour is such an unusual colour choice for me too but I’m so happy I went with something different. I’m a smitten kitten with my bathroom hah! Oh, and lets just take moment to appreciate my tea light night light. Best. Find. Ever. Okay I’m done swooning over my bathroom now.

November 5th, 2012 | isavirtue Stationary & blogger spotlight

I have a bit of a blogger crush on Kaitlyn Patience . She’s always been one of my favourite bloggers – and not just because she’s a fellow Canadian who shares my name ;). She always finds and creates the most inspiring things, and really believes in writing letters and mailing cards. I’m a huge fan of snail mail, its so sad that technology has killed it. There is just something so special about receiving letters.  She always manages to package her letters so beautifully and has the most creative envelopes you’ll ever see if your lucky enough to get something mailed to you from her. (Not to mention this lady has the neatest handwriting I have ever seen! I always feel like I’m reading a letter from the queen when she mails me ;) hah!)

She also has her own etsy store, isavirtue. (Last year I hosted a giveaway for store credit to her shop so some of you might already be farmiliar with her work. She also frequently makes an appearance in my side bar) She creates cards, stationary, notebooks. She also has just released some really cute Christmas gift tags for the holiday season in her shop. I definately getting some I’m just trying to decide on what ones.

I got so excited when I recently received a package in the mail from her. Kaitlyn mailed me some mini-packages of her work I might like.  I’m. In. Love.  The paper quality is so nice to write on and the colours were just phenomenal. I loved my stuff so much I was almost afraid to use them because they were so nice I just wanted to keep everything forever. I seriously just loved the stuff so much that I had to share it with you guys. If you want to check her out here’s some links: Blog / Shop / Twitter.

August 6th, 2012 | A Little Bit of Room Inspiration

Welp. I had a bunch of recipes I wanted to try out and share, as well as some new outfits. And then I kinda broke my face. So I’ve been in bed all week. Last Wed I fainted at work and landed face first into a metal stand, a plastic box, then the floor and ended up in emergency for the day. Classy. So I’ve been eating mushy food all week and have been dopped up pain killers.

I’ve started to plan out all the rooms I want to re-decorate though, so I thought I’d share some of that. I planned out my bedroom a little while ago and have started making some things for it so here’s some of my inspiration that.

I’ve bought all the stuff to make a dream catcher, but I read that it’s actually bad luck to make yourself or buy yourself a pre made one. You should receive it as a gift, or have some one make it for you. So I’m forcing my crafty friends to make it hahaa. I got a wood K from Michaels for under a dollar, and I’m just going to stain it a little darker. I’ve been collecting frames from Value Village and repainting them. I’m also planning to make some textile heavy pillow covers.

Beth made a really cool skull and antlers out of masking tape and wire, so I want to make some of them too. Though I’m sure hers is going to put mine to shame. I have loads of  work to do (including actually repainting my room) but I’m getting really excited. I hope to have it finished by the end of Sept.

March 27th, 2012 | Dilemma… I need your opinion!

Okay guys. I have been searching and searching for the perfect iPhone case for months now. (Mine finally broke, and as much as I love it and could just replace it I think it’s time for something new). Unfortunately, I found two and can’t decide…

Reasons why I like #1 – I loooove the typography. I’m a huge type nerd. I also like the overal design of it. (The quote is from Arrested Development apparently)

Why I like #2 – I’m partial to brighter colours. It also has floral. I love how cheeky the quote is too.

My mom said the 2nd one was more me, but so far the 1st one is in the lead from my friend’s opinions. ARGH. I’m torn.  So I thought I would take a vote! What one do you like better?

Also a big congrats to IZZY!! You won the scarf giveaway from garden & sea! Wahoo!! I’ve sent you an email :)
