May 11th, 2011 | A Breakfast Fit for Royalty!

Like many others, my grandmother, mom, sister and I all got up at 5:30am, to watch the Royal wedding. After watching the ceremony we went the extra mile and had a British themed high tea for breakfast… tiaras and all! My sister bought the tiara’s from the dollar store and decorated them to resemble the British flag. She also made these adorable pearl bracelets.

Normally I’m not much of  a morning person, but surprisingly we all weren’t that tired. Here we all are, not too bad for just waking up! My mom and grandmother had gold crowns (for ‘queen’) and my sister and I had the silver ones (for ‘princess’).

For the tea we had scones, fresh strawberries, sugar syrup oranges, and home-made devonshire cream & lemon butter. We tea that came straight from London itself –  my English Breakfast Tea that my sister brought home from me on her recent trip to Europe.

Here is what the table looked like! So festive!! Overall it was really fun, despite having to wake up so early! We decided that breakfast teas are something that we as a family need to do more often.. just not so early next time. It was surprisingly really filling, and really enjoyable.

My favourite part about the wedding itself was easily the fashion, from Kate’s and Pippa’s gorgeous Alexander McQueen dresses, to the wacky and tacky hats! If you woke up for it, how did you spend your royal morning and what were your favourite moments? More pictures below! (Some were taken by my sister and mom, some me, but they were all too good to not share with you!)

May 6th, 2011 | Linguine, Martini, Bikini and Cupcakes?!

For easter dinner, my sister and I were in charge of bringing the cupcakes! We spent the day before baking 36 cupcakes & decorating them…. and drinking martini’s ;). Okay, our family isn’t really crazy large so we really didn’t need all 36. We were just arguing about flavours so we made two batches so we could have both chocolate and vanilla.

This is what we made! Coconut birds nests with baby birds and then buttercream icing nests with jellybean eggs! For more photos, head on over to Lauren’s blog.

May 4th, 2011 | Versatile Blogger Award

A while ago Emma over at Ol’ Green Eyes was kind enough to pass along the versatile blogger award to me. So here you go, 7 facts about me :)

1.  I’m a firm believer that a night out dancing solves everything.

2.  I’m that kid that you’ll find reading art history books for fun.

3.  I can’t eat gluten.

4. My left eardrum has burst twice. Once as a child, and then again last year when I had H1N1. I have trouble hearing out of it now as a result.

5. Every sunday I have my sunday tea in a vintage tea cup.

6. I had my first website when I was in gradeschool at the age of 8. It was made on geocities and filled with tacky animated gifs, many which my sister and I created ourselves. I owned my first domain when I was 13.

7. My job during high school and most of my college career was one of the most rewarding, valuable and learning experiences of my life.  I seriously wouldn’t be who I am today without that job. It taught me a lot about myself, and people in general. I was a historical Interpreter.

And now here are the lovely people I’d like to pass this along to! Everyone who reads this blog! I honestly don’t know who has done this, and who hasn’t. So I’d like to invite everyone to do this if they haven’t already. Feel free to link me to your post in the comments once you’ve done it! I’d love to get to know all of you better :)
