October 13th, 2011 | Recipe: Apple-crisp stuffed apples baked in cider
I thought I’d share this delicious fall treat that I made the other day. It’s baked apples stuffed with apple crisp, and then I cooked it in apple cider! It’s soooo yummy!!
Here’s what you’ll need:
♥ Apples
♥ Brown sugar
♥ Cinnamon
♥ Maple syrup
♥ Apple cider
♥ Butter
♥ Caramel sauce
♥ Oats

First things first, you need to cut the top off the apples and hollow them out. The first little bit is hard because of the core, but once you get that out it’s pretty easy. I used a cantaloupe spoon to do this.
In a large bowl, mix together the chopped apple, 1tsp butter, cinnamon, oats, and brown sugar together. I also poured in about 1/4 cup apple cider, some caramel sauce, and maple syrup as well.
Stuff the apples with the mix, and preheat the oven to 320F. Place the apples in a casserole dish and pour some apple cider into the bottom of the dish as well as over the apples. For 4 apples, I baked them for 40 minutes – 1 hour. You may need to adjust baking times depending on how many you are making.
Garnish with ice-cream, caramel sauce, and maple syrup if desired! Serve warm & enjoy :)
